Alleged altered NASA photographs
McKinnon has also stated that he encountered both “processed” and “unprocessed” NASA images, believing that some photographs had been edited to remove unusual objects. How prior beliefs shape interpretation
McKinnon’s account illustrates how existing beliefs influence interpretation of ambiguous information.
People already convinced that governments conceal evidence of UFOs often view the missing files as consistent with secrecy. From that perspective, the inability to verify the evidence is itself interpreted as suspicious.
